Two hours later, we are shown to our room and look around with pure happiness. As rooms go, this one is fit for a queen and I gasp as I move to the window and stare across a garden that wouldnât look out of place in a magazine.
The room itself is large and spacious, decorated mainly in white, and everything about it screams relaxation.
Heidi just wanders around in awe and then lies back on one of the two beds that sit side by side and sighs happily. âIâm in heaven on a large white fluffy cloud.â
I jump onto the one next to her and have to agree.
In fact, it takes all our will power to leave the comfort of it and dress for dinner. Apparently, we have a three-course healthy meal to enjoy with the obligatory wine.
As we apply our make up in the bathroom, Heidi says, âThose treatments were amazing. My nails have never looked so good and my face feels as if Iâve shed ten years already.â
âYes, they certainly know their stuff. I hope it didnât cost Sable too much money, itâs so generous of her.â
âIâm not sure but I think she got it as a favour.â
âReally, thatâs some favour.â
âI overheard her telling Finn that they offered it in return for a mention in the magazine she runs.â
âAre you kidding?â
I stare at her in shock and she shrugs. âIt makes good business sense. A freebie in exchange for a write up. They will get more bookings through it and itâs worth it because they would also be included in your wedding portfolio. Iâm also guessing their details will be in your hotel brochure; you see, business is well equipped to take a loss leader when it brings great rewards.â
âIs that what I am, a loss leader?â
Heidi grins. âNothing wrong with that if you get to experience this kind of luxury, in fact, Iâm thinking of buying a chateau of my own just to see what I can get for free in return for a mention.â
I suppose it does make perfect sense and makes me feel a little better. At least it didnât cost her anything, which is a good thing because Iâm guessing this place is well above my price range.
